Ali Al Bazzaz

Financial Adviser and Shareholder

Ali graduated from the University of Baghdad with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. By the age of seventeen, he was simultaneously studying full time and running his own business. In 2000, Ali made the decision to sell his business and move to NZ with his family where he saw a brighter and more secure future. Within three years of being on Kiwi soil, Ali opened his first business in NZ, a Civic Video store in Whangaparoa and another later in Royal Oak. Ali identified the decline of the DVD rental industry and later went on to purchase and revamp Burger Fuel in Parnell. It was during this time that Ali started turning his attention towards a healthy and active lifestyle, which ultimately lead to his decision to leave the fast food industry.

This is when Ali was introduced to the world of Financial Services and truly found his passion. Ali genuinely loves helping and supporting people, both his clients and his co-workers, this has led to Ali not only being a Financial Adviser but our New Business Mentor, working with our team of advisers to help them deliver outstanding service, advice and support to our clients.

In his spare time Ali will likely be found at the gym, catching up with friends, spending time with his kids or walking his adorably fur baby Leonard.

Andy Turner

Director and Senior Insurance Adviser

Andy Turner is a Director and a Financial Adviser at wealthhq. Andy joined the financial services in 2006 at a large risk insurance company. It was here, Andy realised his passion for the industry.

Andy has been a financial adviser for Kiwi’s since 2011. In 2020 he created and built insurancehq which was the first subsidiary to mortgagehq, focused on a joint passion to protect the financial future of New Zealanders. It was in 2022 when the third piece of the hq puzzle was born – wealthhq. Created to say ‘YES’ when others say ‘NO’, our mission is to help you navigate the savings process and accelerate your pathway into home ownership through education, and a plan built to help you succeed.

In his spare time, you will find Andy playing football or somewhere in the ocean trying to catch a few fish for the family.

Cayla Wakefield

Support Team Leader & Operation Co-Ordinator

Originally from South Africa, Cayla moved to Auckland in 2010. She joined wealthhq and insurancehq from a business/logistics background, with a Bachelor of commerce and practical experience in the logistics industry. We love having her around and everyone benefits from the processes, thinking and skills she is transferring into the company.

Cayla is a homebody at heart, and can be counted on to be cooking, baking, reading and spending time with her nearest and dearest when not working.
